Description
The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)/477 programs include Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Workforce Innovations Opportunity Act (WIOA), Job Placement and Training, and Native Employment Works (NEW). TANF Cash Assistance is a short-term, one-time cash benefit of up to $1,500. The TANF Child-Only Grant provides monthly cash assistance for court-ordered placement children, and the TANF Family Grant provides monthly cash assistance for parents of dependent children. WIOA provides services and financial assistance to adults and youth who are looking for work or who want to expand their careers. Job Placement and Training offers financial assistance and training to those who have recently become employed full-time, and NEW offers services to people who are preparing for interviews or have accepted new part-time, seasonal, or temporary employment. 

Who Can Use It
The best way to know whether you are eligible for Tulalip 477 programs is to complete an application and submit it to the 477-TANF Department. 

How to Join
To receive benefits, you’ll first need to complete an application. If you don’t know which application you should fill out, please call 360-716-4719. You can pick up applications at the main office at 6406 Marine Drive. 

Costs
There are no costs to you for 477-TANF programs

What to Expect
Staff will review your forms and contact you via phone (within two days) and mail, letting you know if your application was approved, denied, or pending. Staff will also reach out if you’re missing documents. Applications are valid for 30 days, so be sure to provide any additional documentation as soon as possible if you’re requested to do so.
