Description
The Tulalip Housing Program provides safe, affordable housing for eligible Native Americans, with a priority for Tulalip tribal members. The program offers housing assistance through new construction, housing acquisition, modernization, and maintenance. It also includes supportive services such as emergency power for elders during outages and road clearing in snow events to ensure safe, livable conditions.

Who Can Use It
Families with at least one enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe, with preference for Tulalip members.

  • Applicants must meet income limits set by HUD for the Seattle-Bellevue Metro area and pass background checks, including requirements for no past-due debt to the Tulalip Tribes
  • No recent history of violent or drug-related criminal behavior.

How to Join
Call 360-716-4447 or email Shirley (Dodie) Jones, Housing Director, at [email protected].

Costs
Rent is 20% of monthly adjusted income. A security deposit of $500 ($250 for elders) is required.

What to Expect
Once approved for the program, you’ll receive access to affordable housing tailored to Tulalip and Native families. Due to high demand, there is a waiting list, but applications are still being accepted. Families should be prepared to provide tribal ID, birth certificates, proof of income, and pass a background check to join the program.

There is something you can do.
Strong community connections are key to addressing this crisis. When neighbors and local groups unite, they create a support network that can identify and help those at risk. Small acts—checking in, sharing resources, offering support—make a real difference. These connections don’t just help in emergencies; they build resilience and prevent addiction from taking root.
